The Vancouver Biennale is an internationally renowned non-profit organization and registered charity that celebrates art in public space. It has a mandate to mount major outdoor art exhibitions featuring world-class international sculpture, new media and performance art. In addition, the Vancouver Biennale produces publications, curriculum, professional symposiums, public lecture series, and is also behind the International Artist Residency Program, which brings some of the world’s most exciting emerging and established artists to Vancouver to study, work and engage with local artists. The Biennale is funded primarily through the sale of art after each exhibition or residency and 100% of the profits from sales are used to fund further exhibitions or programs, which covers the majority of the organization's operating budget.

Below you will find the legacy sculptures that we hope, with your help, to make a permanent part of the city’s landscape.

Through public and private philanthropy, major artworks are able to be acquired from each Vancouver Biennale open-air exhibition and permanently situated throughout Vancouver and its environs.
To date, four Metro Vancouver communities (City of Vancouver, City of Richmond, District of Squamish, and City of New Westminster) have become recipients of these major legacy installations. Not only have these iconic artworks--typically the most beloved by residents and tourists--created well-frequented destinations for people to gather, but they will also ensure that the region's urban landscape has a strong legacy of public art for future generations to visit and enjoy.
Your donation directly augments the region's cultural assets; supports the creation of one of the world's most livable cities; and contributes to a culture of diversity, healthy outdoor living, and creatively inspired public spaces.
